I have always been a daydreamer, having vivid dreams pop into my head several times a day. The only medium which could develop that was books. I used to class myself as a voracious reader, trying to absorb everything and anything which came my way. They would satisfy me for a short while, until I had to do it all over again.
I first dipped my toe into the cold waters of writing when I was thirteen. I wrote a short story based on bullying. The reason I wrote it, was because I wanted to understand why they did it. Some twenty one years later, I thought I’d give it another go.
I set myself a target of 500 words and started to write. Eight hundred words later and I knew I had something. Even then, it did not come easy. But the more I did it, the more I came to love creating worlds and characters and then setting them free. A course in creative writing soon followed to help me sharpen and define my skills as a writer.
This is how you find me now, at the beginning of my career.
